DISCIPLING THE POWERFUL.

The early disciples were not naturally equipped with the courage or the strength of the mind that would be needed to go up against someone with great power.  This was given to them through the power of the Holy Spirit when it was needed, but normally the early disciples were just common ordinary men and women.

This is what makes what Peter and John did so incredible.  These were just ordinary commoners going up against the most rich and powerful in the land in that day.

There were a number of priests who, in serving their allotted week's Temple service (Luke 1:8, 23), were not far from Salomon's Colonnade.  They were able to hear Peter's declarations about Jesus as the Messiah.

This alarmed them at what they considered dangerous teaching against Jewish authority.  Think about it.  There are a lot of countries in the world today that do not have freedom of speech as found in the United States of America.  The news is full of horrow stories of what happens to people today who say the wrong things in the wrong places.  To visualize what happened to John and Peter is not so hard.

The priests who heard them probably alerted the captain of the Temple guard. The captain would be the commander of the Temple police force and more than likely a member of one of the important priestly families.

The priests also alerted the Sadducee, who were from the priestly line. The Sadducee had held the high priesthood (Luke 22:4, 52; Acts 5:24) from the time of the Maccabees revolt (168-165 B.C) and also held other prominent positions in the Sanhedrin.

Even though all of this was true, Acts 6:15 tells us that "all that sat in the council, looking steadfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel".

Even though they were rich and powerful, Acts 6:10 says that they "were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake."  (Third Mellennia Ministries,  http://thirdmill.org/studybible/note.asp/id/43714, Third Millennium Study Bible  Notes on Acts 4:1-22)

The apostles tells us why they could do these things when it is written in 2 Timothy 4:16 and 17, "...the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me; that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion".

It was not through their own courage and fortitude that they could do this. Paul says "...the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me...".

Discipling the Sick.

Discipling the Sick.

Healing and discipling the sick has more to it than just healing the body.   Jesus' goal was to heal the entire person, mind, body and soul.  Jesus came not only to give man good health but also peace and perfect character.  It was through all three of these things that He made people well and when we disciple the sick, that should be our goal also.  When Jesus healed, He used the opportunity for implanting divine principles in the mind and soul.
with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

THE HEALING MESSIAH.

Luke 4:17-19 -
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Jesus was not only sent to earth to preach deliverance but also to heal the physically afflicted.  Jesus  humbled Himself, became like us to take on our nature, so that He could be like us, so that He could understand us where we are.
Jesus attracted a following from the power of His love and character, because people could understand Him and because He treated people who were lacking in not only spiritual wealth, but also spiritual wealth.  He took the time to reach out to these people, totally, when no one else could.

HEALING THE BODY

Our physical health and spiritual health are NATURALLY linked together. Both can be improved by the addition of good habits into our lifestyle.

JESUS HEALS A PARALYTIC.

We need to realize our sinful condition as fallen human beings has an affect on our physical health, but this should not become our focus. Neither should we focus on ourselves, our time  should be spent focusing on Jesus.

Our physical bodies are not separated from our spiritual existence.  When Jesus healed, He healed the whole person, physical, mental and spiritual.  When Jesus healed these people He healed more than just the body, He healed the whole person.  Why just heal the person physically if he was going to face eternal death anyway.

Healing The Mind And Body

There is a close relationship between the mind and the body.  Afflictions of one can affect the other.  Medical science has proven that many diseases of the body are a direct result of mental illness, such a depression.
On the other hand courage, hope, faith, sympathy, love, promote health and prolong life. A contented mind, a cheerful spirit, is health to the body and strength to the soul.
"A merry [rejoicing] heart doeth good like a medicine." Proverbs 17:22.

Matthew6: 32-34

For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

1 Peter 5:7

casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

2 Corinthians 4:7-10

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.  We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

Philippians 4:4-9

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!  Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Meditate on These Things
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

1 John 3:20-22

For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.  Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.  And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

The Resurrection and the Life.

In a world where death does have the finale say in everyone's life, if someone dies prematurely because of an illness, Jesus Christ has the power to resurrect them to eternal life if they put their faith in Him as the Son of God.  Their are times when healing is just not the will of God for reasons no one at this point can understand.  The saints of Jesus Christ will inherit His kingdom and possess eternal life.

Luke 7:11-17 - Jesus Raises the Son of the Widow of Nain.  Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd.  And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.  Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen up among us”; and, “God has visited His people.”  And this report about Him went throughout all Judea and all the surrounding region.

God promises the gift of healing in todays church as a means for securing or leading people to the gospel.

CAN YOU CAN TALK TO THE DEAD.

The Christian Bible well documents the idea in many scriptures that there are angels who God directs to minister to humans. These angels do not contact humans on their own and humans cannot contact them. That is not without God's express permission. This is talking about God's angels, not all angels. There are angels that were created by God, that chose to rebel against God.

Satan is one of them. When he rebelled, he took one third of all angels that were created by God with him. These are what most Christians refer to as Fallen angels or demons. These angels, along with Satan, can and will communicate with you.

They will do this for one reason and one reason only. The reason is to deceive you. These angels that communicate with humans are not dead people. They are a creation of God, created as an angel that dwells in the spiritual realm.

The Bible does not teach nor will you find any scripture that supports the idea that the dead come back to help human beings in any way. In order to teach this doctrine, scripture must teach on the immortality of the human soul or spirit and it does not.

The immortality of the human soul or spirit is strictly a pagan idea not found anywhere in the Bible. Early in Christianity, during the early third and fourth centuries, it was incorporated into Christian doctrine, through the Roman Christian Church. Bible scripture plainly teaches that "For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing, And they have no more reward, For the memory of them is forgotten" (Ecclesiastes 9:5).

The "ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs for salvation" (Hebrews 1:14) are not dead people but are God's heavenly angels. The doctrine that man is concious after he dies is based today on modern spiritualism. Modern spiritualism and most of its beliefs are not rooted in Biblical scripture.

If there was any truth in the conciousness of man going on after death, why would not a loving God allow these spirits free will to contact those they love and warn them against the evils of this world? On that alone, the idea that people can talk to the dead makes no logical sense.

Bible scripture teaches that God's eternal plan is the salvation of man.  "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, who was then allowed by God to be cruelly tortured and executed. As a Christian, if you believe John 3:16, how could you logically believe that God would not allow the spirits of dead humans actively participate in man's salvation, and talk to their dead relatives and loved ones freely and without being conjured up by someone who claims they can talk to the dead, while taking your money.  That makes no sense what so ever.

JESUS CHRIST IS OUR SACRIFICE TO GOD FOR OUR ETERNAL SALVATION.

UNDERSTANDING JESUS CHRIST, WHO HE HIS AND WHY HE DIED, IS YOUR TICKET TO ETERNAL LIFE AND
IMORTALITY!

http://www.bubblews.com/news/646363-heaven-is-it-real-what-happens-when-a-person-dies

The following passage is a vivid description of the Christian's Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It Clearly gives us a clear picture of His life how He was despised, tortured and executed. It Also tells us that this was done by God, His Father, in order to provide salvation for mankind. But, all that is not the only remarkable part about this passage, (LETS MAKE THIS CLEAR, THAT IS THE IMPORTANT PART, but not the only remarkable part). The other remarkable part about this passage is that it was written by a prophet of God more than 700 years before Jesus Christ was even born.

This passage is clear evidence of the death of Jesus as a powerful atonement where Jesus substituted His very life in a sacrificial death so that we who deserve to die may have eternal life.

"And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant,
And as a root out of dry ground.
He has no form or comeliness;
And when we see Him,
There is no beauty that we should desire Him.

3 He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

4 Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment,
And who will declare His generation?
For He was cut off from the land of the living;
For the transgressions of My people He was stricken.

9 And they[a] made His grave with the wicked
But with the rich at His death,
Because He had done no violence,
Nor was any deceit in His mouth.

10 Yet it [moved] the Lord to bruise Him;
He has put Him to grief.
When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,
And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

11 He shall see the labor of His soul,[b] and be satisfied.
By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many,
For He shall bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great,
And He shall divide the spoil with the strong,
Because He poured out His soul unto death,
And He was numbered with the transgressors,
And He bore the sin of many,
And made intercession for the transgressors." (Issaiah 53:2_12)

Footnotes:

Isaiah 53:9 Literally he or He
Isaiah 53:11 Following Masoretic Text, Targum, and Vulgate; Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint read From the labor of His soul He shall see light.

Jesus died for the sinners and Jesus Himself was a perfect human being that had no sin in Him. Because He had no sin He was the only and perfect sacrifice the could be made. Jesus made Himself "lower thatn the angels" in order to do this. Man was created higher than the angels and Satan was an angel creation. This is the only way this could be, that Jesus was made to be even lower than the Angels. That was part of the sacrifice and then he was made to suffer until he finally died.

"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone" (Hebrews 2:9).

Think about it the next time you are asked to sacrifice something in your own life. Jesus did this for your eternal salvation.

THE FESTIVALS OF GOD. GOD'S HOLY DAYS.

God created man with the intent of making man part of His divine family.  These would be immortal beings who would live together with God and Jesus Christ throughout eternity.  But, Satan caused man to sin against God so before God could continue with His plan to make mankind part of His family, He had to complete a  salvation plan which He formulated before man even existed.

The Bible presents this, which describes a plan which spanned the ages.  it is a plan that leads humanity through this life and offers all mankind forgiveness and an opportunity for salvation to live as mortals throughout eternity.

Find out what this plan has to offer.

HOW GREAT IS THE GOD THAT CREATED US AND IS OUR FATHER?

God said "what so ever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you." (Philippians 4:8-9).

Think about it and what it says.  Think about what God says He will do, "peace".

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TELL US ABOUT LIFE AFTER DEATH?

The Bible has a definite view about life after death and it may be contrary to the popular belief of most Christians.  The Bible does not tell us that when we die we go to heaven.  It is very true that this is a popular Christian doctrines preached by most Christian denominations today, but just because it is a Christian doctrine does not make it true.

Their are many varied doctrines in the Christian religion today.  Each church professing a particular doctrine will swear on the Bible that what they are preaching is the truth and that if you do not believe them you will go to hell.  The question is, how can all these different doctrines be true?  The short answer is that they can't.  There can only be one truth.

If this is the case, then there are a lot of Christians out there who believe that they were going to go to heaven when thy die who aren't.  The Bible actually tells us that no one goes to heaven right after they die.  This is a fabrication thought up by Satan and instituted by the early Roman Church in order to deceive new found Christian believers and give them false hope which, because of the uncertainty of a belief that cannot really be proven by the scriptures evokes dread, fear and hopelessness, which is exactly what Satan wants to do.  He is a master at this.

The Bible makes it pretty simple to understand exactly what happens when we die.  It says, "Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it"  (Ecclesiastes 12:7).  Most Christians at this point will say, "see, the Bible says that the spirit goes back to God, who gave it!"

That is true, it does say that.  But, the Bible also says, "The spirit of God is in my nostrils" (Job 27:3).  God's Spirit that he gave to man is the "breath of God"  The "breath of life".  It is God's power.  The Bible never says anywhere that the spirit has any intellect, life, wisdom, or feeling.  it is the breath "of" life, not life itself.

To understand exactly what the scripture means, you must understand what the human spirit is.  Exactly how is the word for spirit used in the Bible.  Let’s take a look at the Old Testament since this is what Jesus Christ taught from.

The English word “spirit” is interpreted from the Hebrew noun, “ruwach”.  The Hebrew word  “ruwach” is related to the verb meaning, "to breathe", or "to blow", The primitive Hebrew root of the word “ruwach” means breath as in “the breath of life”, or to blow as in blowing air from the nostrils.

Ruwach can refer to wind, breath or to the mind such as in a state of agitation.  It could describe a person as physically being in a fast motion, such as a horse breathing quickly or being vivacious or animated with vigor.  It can also describe a psychological state of being such as being mad or angry.  It could describe your temperament as being courageous or describe your disposition as impatient, angry, bitter.  All of these descriptions can describe the spirit of a man.

The spirit of a man is an abstract description.  It is not a physical entity.  The spirit doesn't think or have any thought process.  It cannot speak, see or talk.

Biblically it is defined as breath, to blow, or wind.  It is a force that has energy.  Job 19:17 interprets “ruwach” as breath.

The Bible also tells us that the soul is a living being.  "And the lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, (ruwach); and man became a living soul"  (Genesis 2:7).  The soul is a combination of two things, the body plus the breath of God, the spirit or the power of God.

There is no scripture in the Bible that tells us that the body and soul, exists without, the spirit.  The Bible tells us that the spirit, which simply is the power of God that kept the body alive making it a "living soul", goes back to God.  There is no scripture that tells us that the soul goes anywhere after death except that it "...will return to the earth as it was..."  (Ecclesiastes 12:7).

THE BIBLE AND THE THOUSAND YEAR REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST ON EARTH, THE MELLENNIUM.

The Christian Bible has many scriptures that talk about a period of time that will happen in our future where Jesus Christ will return to earth and reign as the King and ruler of the entire earth.  The Saints of Jesus Christ will help Jesus in this task.  This particular period is known by Christians as the "Millennium".

This will be a time that will be the start of something new that has never happened on earth before.  There is a lot of misrepresentation about this time period because the ruler of the earth at the present time, Satan, doesn't want you to understand what will happen.  The Bible scriptures tells you the truth about what will happen during this period of time.

Revelation chapter 20 starts off by telling us how an angel will come down from heaven and take Satan, who has already been defeated by Jesus Christ as explained earlier in Revelation, and the angel will lay "...hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan..." (Revelation 20:2), and the angel will put him in what is described as a "bottomless pit" where Satan will be "...bound... [for] ...a thousand years".

Then it tells us that "...thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years"  (Revelation 20:4).

That scripture makes if clear that Christ will be reigning here on earth for one thousand years.
