Should Christians Celebrate CHRISTMAS?

Image
I am aware of the fact that officially the Seventh-day Adventist church does not observe Christmas as a religious event. This is mostly because of the Pagan and commercial influences on the holiday. Individual churches however may have Christmas themed sermons around this time. That is my only objective today. Through the centuries some have argued for doing away with the observance of Christmas completely. Oliver Cromwell tried to ban Christmas in Britain after the beheading of King Charles the First. That attempt to abolish Christmas didn’t last long. My question I want to propose to you today is rhetorical. I am not looking for an answer, but the question I do have is, “Since the majority of the civilized Christian world today recognizes Christmas, why not use it as an evangelical tool?” I personally do not and never did buy into the commercialism of the Holiday.   Even as a young child, I found it disconcerting that many people didn’t attend church at...

IT IS A SHAME THAT MANY CHRISTIANS DO NOT UNDERSTAND BIBLE PROPHECY.

Image
There is so much compelling evidence for the accuracy of Bible prophecy that it is a shame so many people do not read and or understand it.  The message in the prophecy is directed to our time, right now.  Many Christians have this false belief that Bible prophecy only deals with the past and that is so far from the actual truth.  There is so much past presented in Bible prophecy for two main reasons.  It is there for evidence of God and the truth He is trying to convey to man.  It is also there to give you something concrete to pin your faith to. Christians need to read the Bible.  Christians more importantly need to understand the message in the Bible and Prophecy is a big part of that message. The Sabbath Commandment Needs To Be Kept.

Image
A person needs to keep the Sabbath commandment just as he keeps all the other commandments.  You really need to reread the New Testament, again, if you think differently.   The Sabbath Commandment was never abolished and it remains the same day of the week as the Old Testament identifies it. 1  Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2  And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3  And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.  (Genesis 2:1-3). It clearly identifies the seventh day of the week, not the first day.  If you think otherwise, you are only fooling yourself, and ultimately God will hold you accountable. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 says: " And that from a child you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise...

Catholic Church Tries To Draw Christians Back To Rome And To Pre-Reformation Faith.

Image
The following article applies to all denominations in the world today and it does not apply to the members of any church denomination.  It applies only to the OFFICIALS WHO RUN THE CHURCH.  So, before all of you critics head out to the shed for your pitch forks and torches, please read the article first.  Then you can head for the pitchforks.   We are all truly one church and as long as a person believes in Jesus Christ as the Son of God we are all one family under God.  The caveat here is that you must stand on the Word of God alone, the Bible. "Five hundred years ago, Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses—and the world has never been the same since. But what has not changed is the Word of God and the truths in the Word that gave Luther the theological foundation to challenge Rome...Luther found the great truth of “justification by faith” alone. "It was in regard to this truth, too, that Luther—defying the powers and principalities of the wo...

The Reality of Escaping Death.

Image
DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY ONLY AFTER JESUS RETURNS! Nobody can or will escape death.   The reality is as certain as life itself.   Most are uncertain of the meaning and interpretations of death vary considerably among Christians and non-Christians alike.   There is a belief that the dead are really still alive and that death simply opens a door into a larger life, unexplained but still believed by many.   There are others who say that death is finale, that everyone who dies just cease to exist. There are many who search for the answers to death and to suffering and blame God saying He is the one responsible for even allowing it to happen.   That God is the one who is the major contributor to all the pain, suffering and heartbreak in the world. Where do the dead go?   Do they go to heaven or hell or do they just exist in a certain level of consciousness until the God of the universe decides it is time to judge them?   Can the dead c...

IS THE OLD TESTAMENT RELEVANT TODAY?

Image
This question can be logically answered in the Word of God.  When Christ was teaching he told the people to "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me" (John 5:39). "The Jews considered that eternal life was revealed to them in their Scriptures, and that they had it, because they had the word of God in their hands. Jesus urged them to search those Scriptures with more diligence and attention....They did indeed search the Scriptures, but it was with a view to their own glory..." ( https://www.biblegateway.com/resources/commentaries/Matthew-Henry/John/John-5-39-44 ). They searched but, because they were seeking "their own glory", they could not then and do not to this day see Jesus Christ as the messiah.  On the surface, that is what this scripture is referring to, the religious Jewish authorities questioning His claim to be the Messiah. But there is a message here that goes deeper than th...

HEAVEN - IS IT REAL?

Image
HEAVEN - IS IT REAL? This book is written and published by - Robert R. Richard Sr. Author of this Blog This is copywrited material. Printed in the United States of America. All rights are reserved. All Scripture quotaions are taken from The New King James Version of the Bible unless otherwise indicated. PREFACE There is a polka that goes: IN HEAVEN THERE IS NO BEER, THAT IS WHY WE DRINK IT HERE. AND WHEN WE’RE GONE FROM HERE, ALL OUR FRIENDS WILL BE DRINKING ALL OUR BEER. The reason there is no beer in heaven is because the only one who ever died and went into heaven is Jesus Christ , and I don’t think He was much of a Beer drinker. When man dies, the simple truth is, he does not go to heaven, hence the lack of beer in heaven. What does happen to man when he dies? Is there any way to really know? There is only one way to find out what happens to you when you die. That is by studying the scriptures , the word of God . If you ...
