It is often asked, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" To try and answer that question today, I'm going to talk about "Why do Good things happen to bad people". One of the strangest lawsuits in US court history was filed on September 14, 2007. It was filed by Nebraska Senator Ernie Chambers. First elected to represent North Omaha's 11th District in the Nebraska State Legislature in 1970, Chambers was successfully re-elected in every ensuing election through 2004. On April 25, 2005, Chambers became Nebraska's longest-serving state senator, having served for more than 35 years. He was seeking to stop evil and injustice in the world, and he actually filed a lawsuit against God. The lawsuit sought a permanent injunction against God's interference in this world. ENOCH IS TAKEN BY GOD, BUT NOT TO HEAVEN
(http://vimeo.com/48226501) Contemporary Christian doctrine uses the verse, Genesis 5:24, “And Enoch walked with God: and he [was] not; for God took him”, as proof of heaven. They interpret this verse as God taking Enoch up into heaven to be with Him. First of all, so far as the scriptures are concerned, there is no passage in the Bible which specifically teaches us that God has taken anyone into heaven to be with Him, except for His Son Jesus Christ. The Bible does mention a resurrection. The apostle Paul wrote, "...the dead will be raised incorporable, and we shall be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:52). The righteous will be taken by Jesus into heaven. Paul also wrote,"...the dead in Christ shall rise first:Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
